With so many Christian websites promoting this book, we felt it was time to primarily for those who have already read the book and believe that it was written by John Bunyan, the great author of Pilgrim's Progress. We do not suggest that one should read the book. This book is very dangerous and one should not subject his mind to unscriptural things.

But I found it greatly compelling and also in line with more current renditions of such experiences. John Bunyan never fails to impress. I'm also a huge fan of the Pilgrim's Progress. Aug 07, Ruth M. I found it helpful, even though the section about evil is difficult to read. Apr 29, Seth rated it really liked it. I would certainly recommend this book. Though sometimes the sections would seem tedious, I very much enjoyed and was helped by the perspectives that John Bunyan presents for heaven and hell. Jan 07, Laurie rated it it was amazing.
This was exactly what i needed. It definitely encouraged me to kill the sin in my life and strive to be more Christ like. I never knew he had this experience. The first part he takes us to heaven and the whole time i was smiling and longing for the day i get to be there. The second part was hell, oh my, it was terrifying. This is a must read! Wake up! This is a book that plainly reveals the deception of this world by the hands of the deceiver.

He became interested in religion after his marriage, attending first the parish church and then joining the Bedford Meeting, a nonconformist group in Bedford, and becoming a preacher. After the restoration of the monarch , when the freedom of nonconformists was curtailed, Bunyan was arrested and spent the next twelve years in jail as he refused to give up preaching. During this time he wrote a spiritual autobiography, Grace Abounding to the Chief of Sinners , and began work on his most famous book, The Pilgrim's Progress , which was not published until some years after his release.
