The Final Verdict

In the account of the Last Judgment (Mathew 25:31-46) when Jesus Christ will come in all His glory with His holy angels to judge mankind, He will give only two verdicts: To those on His left whose lives reflect unbelief, He will say, “Depart from Me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.” “These will go away into eternal punishment.” To those on His right whose lives reflect faith in their Savior, He will say, “Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.” There will be no “in between.” There will be no “second chance.”
“Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation” (2 Cor. 6:2). Now, while you are alive; now before our Lord comes again, turn and be clothed with the righteousness (Gal. 3:27) of Jesus Christ who died for you and arose again; now enjoy living for Him, and hear the verdict on that final day, “Come you blessed by my Father.” Sunday service time at Peace Lutheran Church is 9:00 a.m. Advent service is on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.

Final Judgement & The Flood

“For this they are willingly ignorant of…the world that then was, being overflowed with water perished” (2 Peter 3:5-6). Dr. Alfred Rehwinkle, in his book, THE FLOOD, pointed out that before Darwin, the subject of geology was studied with the assumption that there was once a UNIVERSAL FLOOD. Now the evidence for such a flood is totally ignored: the laying down of the strata of the earth, the polystrate fossils piercing these strata, the fossils found on every continent and on the highest mountains, which could only be formed by a sudden and great catastrophe such as the flood.
Sinful man finds it convenient to ignore this great judgment of God when He “saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth” (Gen. 6:5). A second reason to push such an event out of his mind is that our Lord Jesus Christ compares the FLOOD to the final judgment, “So also shall the coming of the Son of Man be” (Matthew 24:39). He finds it safer to date every fossil as millions of years old. Noah and his family found this safety in the Ark. God has provided for our refuge from the final judgment in His Son, Jesus Christ. Enter the Ark and Be Saved

A great tourist attraction is the replica of Noah’s Ark, now acclaimed to be the largest wooden structure in the world.  More than a tourist attraction, this 500 foot long, 100 foot high, three storied construction shows the feasibility of carrying and feeding every KIND (not species) of animal and bird for over a year in a flood that covered the highest mountain top by 20 feet, just as described in the Bible.

Our Lord said, “As the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.  For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be” (Matthew 24:38-39).  As those who entered the one door of the Ark escaped the devastating flood waters, so our Lord Jesus Christ is the door to escape the final judgment to eternal damnation when He comes on the last day.  Enter that door while it is open for you.  At Peace Lutheran Church the Sunday service is 9:00 a.m.
