Jesus said, “If you continue in My Word, you are My disciples indeed, and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:31-32). The simple Truth is that people are in bondage to sin and destined for God’s eternal condemnation unless made free by the one and only Savior, Jesus Christ, who redeemed us by His holy, precious blood. To know and believe this Truth is to have freedom from sin’s curse and power and to have freedom to serve God in righteousness for time and eternity.
There is a parallel in the political sphere. Where government officials lie to the people, when business dealings include fraud, deceit, and misrepresentation, when those appointed to serve the people refuse to unless bribed—the culture and economy reverts to that of a third world nation and citizens will be made ready to accept a police state and a dictatorial type of government.
A fringe benefit of a people continuing in God’s Truth is a people who want the truth, and will not tolerate a lie. Come to Peace Lutheran Church for this Truth. Sunday service time is 9:00 a.m.
